With a goal to decarbonize the industry governments around the world and vehicle manufacturers have set targets for an EV dominated future. As of December 2021, there were estimated to be over 200,000 electric vehicles on the road in Canada and with the federal mandate for 100% of new vehicle sales to be electric by 2035 the number of electric vehicles on the road will grow exponentially. EV charging infrastructure must be implemented in a strategic manner, at the right places and in the right quantities to sustain the growth of electric vehicle adoption. To meet the scale required businesses and property owners are confronted with substantial upgrades to their electrical systems, making EV charging installations financially burdensome, time consuming and extremely complicated, if not completely infeasible.
